Janet comes from a musical family and is proud to be the percussionist in Sabrosas Latin Orchestra, San Diego’s only all-female salsa band. Her brother Eric (also on the J&J team) plays bass and guitar, and JoyLynn, who married into the family a couple decades ago, still loves watching him perform whenever she gets the chance. Their nephew, John Murray, is the next generation of talent—a gifted bass player currently attending Juilliard.
So yes… it runs in the family.
That’s why we’re especially excited to share one of the most loved and musically rich events in Carlsbad—the TGIF Concerts in the Park series. Whether you’re into jazz, funk, ’80s rock, or soulful R&B, there’s something for everyone—and it’s all free, family-friendly, and happening right here in our community.
